MGM's all-time classic musical, "Singin' in the Rain," is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year and the frosting on the cake is a newly released, digitally remastered print opening today at the Jordan Commons Megaplex-17 theaters in Sandy. The spirited song-and-dance movie stars Gene Kelly, Donald O'Connor and Debbie Reynolds in a sendup of Hollywood's transition from silent films to "talkies." It's been shown on TV hundreds of times, but this is a Technicolor treasure that's best seen on the big screen.
