Ya gotta love rugby

As a former rucker with the Highland Rugby Club, I can't tell you how excited I was to see (Jon Ringwood's) article endorsing rugby. I agree with every point he made.

Some of the best rugby in the United States can be found in Utah. The Highland Rugby Club has won numerous national championships and has competed on the international level with much success. They play the game the way it was meant to be played, demonstrating hard work, tenacity, a never-give-up attitude, camaraderie and sportsmanship.

The local college teams, BYU, and recently Utah, have been highly ranked, with Utah finishing second in the national tournament a year ago. This past summer, the U.S. national team played a World Cup qualifying match against Chile in Murray.

The best part of rugby, however, occurs when a match ends. Both sides put away their differences and demonstrate the greatest show of sportsmanship in sport. The winning team forms a line and shakes hands as the team that lost the match walks by. What a game!
