The torch will begin its final journey at 5 a.m. at the Union Pacific Station in Salt Lake City before heading north to Davis County. From there it will head back south through western Salt Lake City before heading to West Valley City, Taylorsville, West Jordan, Riverton, Draper, Sandy, Midvale, Murray, South Salt Lake and to the east side of Salt Lake City.
The torch will arrive at 7:03 p.m. at the Shriners Hospital for Children in upper east-side Salt Lake City about two miles from Olympic Stadium. The route the torch will take from the hospital to the stadium is still a secret.
Along its path on Feb. 8 the torch will make a 10-minute stop at West Valley City Hall, a 30-minute lunch stop at Kearns High School, a 15-minute rest stop at the Sandy Amphitheater and a 15-minute break at Murray City Hall.
Organizers also took steps to make sure the torch passed by or stopped at Chevrolet dealerships and a Coca-Cola warehouse along the way. Coke and Chevy are the official sponsors of the relay.
The torch will make a five-minute pause at Swire Coca-Cola in Draper and will pass Chevy dealers like Gus Paulos in West Valley and Jerry Seiner in Salt Lake.
The relay also will pass a few schools other than Kearns High, including Bountiful High School and Backman Elementary in Salt Lake City.
