An Ogden woman is in critical condition after police say a bullet struck her as she was asleep in bed Sunday.

OGDEN — An Ogden woman was hospitalized in critical condition Sunday after police say a bullet struck her as she was asleep in bed.

Officers were dispatched to reports of shots fired in the 300 block of 28th Street shortly after midnight Sunday. The home had been hit by multiple gunshots, one of which hit the 47-year-old woman as she slept, Ogden Police Lt. Tim Scott said.

The woman, whose name was not released Sunday, was taken to a hospital in critical condition, Scott said.

An investigation into the shooting is ongoing.
