JP Gibson, the young boy who signed a “contract” with the Utah Jazz in the fall of 2014 and became a fan favorite while receiving cancer treatment, announced in a self-written note his father Josh shared on Twitter Saturday night that his cancer has returned.

Just a few weeks ago at NBA Summer League, the Gibson family told the Deseret News that JP, now 7 years old, had been in remission for two years, and expressed hope that his cancer would not return.
