BIG COTTONWOOD CANYON — The Cottonwood Canyons Foundation is looking for 50 volunteers to help plant wildflowers, rehabilitate the landscape and clean up the heavily used areas around Silver Lake’s boardwalk on Saturday, June 17.

The project will run from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Interested parties are asked to preregister at cottonwoodcanyons.org by 5 p.m. Thursday, June 15.

Additional location details, instructions and parking information will be emailed to registered participants a week before the event.

Volunteers are encouraged to wear long pants, boots or other sturdy, closed-toe shoes, and to bring a hat, sunglasses, sunscreen and water bottle.

The lake, located at the top of canyon, saw more than 213,500 visitors last summer, according to the Cottonwood Canyons Foundation.
