PROVO — Utah New Works Theatre Project will host a playwriting panel March 24 at 7 p.m., at Pioneer Book, 450 W. Center, Provo.

The event, Playwriting Panel: Tackling the Ten, will include a panel of four local playwrights who will offer tips on how to write an effective 10-minute play, according to a news release.

Panelists will include Melissa Leilani Larson, a three-time winner of the Association for Mormon Letters Drama Award; George Nelson, a professor in the Department of Theatre and Media Arts at BYU; Page Petrucka, an award-winning playwright and director; and Eric Samuelsen, a blogger and the current playwright in residence with Plan-B Theatre in Salt Lake City.

Utah New Works Theatre Project is a nonprofit foundation dedicated to fostering new theatrical works, according to the news release. The panel is presented in anticipation of the organization's 10-minute play festival that will be held in November.
