Utah State's track and field teams kick off the 2017 outdoor season, competing at the UC Irvine-hosted Spring Break Collegiate Classic, Friday and Saturday, March 17-18, in Irvine, California.
The first day of action will start with the women's hammer throw, held at Golden West College, at 10 a.m. MT. Friday's competitions will close at Anteater Stadium with the running of the men's and women's 5,000m at 7:20 p.m.
Saturday begins with the men’s 4x100m relay at 1 p.m., while the Collegiate Classic ends at 5 p.m., with the men’s and women’s 4x400m relay.
Utah State men’s track and field returns four athletes that earned All-American honors during the 2016 outdoor season, including AJ Boully (4x400m), Brady Martin (4x400m), Dillon Maggard (1,500m) and Clay Lambourne (800m).
Additionally, the Aggie men earned 13 all-conference accolades at last year’s Mountain West Championships, finishing runner-up with 176 points as a team.
Utah State’s women bring back senior javelin thrower Mia Estes, who was the lone USU returner to receive all-conference honors as she won the event title last outdoor season. Estes currently ranks second all-time in school history in the women’s javelin.
The lady Aggies placed sixth with a team score of 59.5 points at last year’s conference championships.
