Dixie State junior defender Bryan Baugh was named to the 2016 Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) Men’s Soccer Honorable Mention All-America list, which was announced by the organization Wednesday morning. With the honor, Baugh becomes the first Trailblazer in DSU men’s soccer program history to earn All-America recognition.

Baugh, who was named Pacific West Conference Defender of the Year and earned first team all-PacWest and D2CCA honors, started in all 19 matches this season and anchored a defensive unit that allowed just 17 goals in 1,723-plus minutes played (0.89 GAA - 24th nationally). He helped lead DSU to eight shutout wins overall, including seven PacWest shutout results, as the Trailblazers won their first-ever PacWest championship and earned the program’s first NCAA tournament bid.

On the offensive side, Baugh tallied his second career goal earlier this season in a win vs. Fresno Pacific and dished out five assists on the year, which moved him atop DSU’s career assists list (13). In addition, Baugh garnered College Sports Information Directors of America Academic All-District and Second Team Academic All-America honors earlier this month.

Dixie State (15-4-0) finished the 2016 season with a school-record 15 victories, all won consecutively after a 0-3-0 start. The Trailblazers also set a PacWest record with 13 conference wins (13-0-0 PacWest) and became just the second PacWest school to finish a conference season unbeaten and untied, joining former league member Grand Canyon, which went 6-0-0 in the league's first season in 2006.
