Anna Schmidt, daughter of Jon Schmidt, was last seen on Sunday.

Search crews continued Saturday morning to be organized in an effort to search for the daughter of Piano Guys' Jon Schmidt.

Local station KGW8 reported that drones and aircraft were sent out Saturday in addition to search and rescue crews.

Jon Schmidt last heard from his 21-year-old daughter, Anna (known by family and friends as Annie) on Sunday, and on Thursday morning Jon Schmidt appeared on a Portland news station making a plea to viewers to help him find his daughter.

According to the Portland Police Bureau’s Missing Persons Unit, Anna Schmidt “is described as a white female, 5 feet 4 inches tall, 125 pounds, brown hair and brown eyes.” Her car was found near Bonneville Dam in the Columbia River Gorge.

On Friday night, Fox 13 reported a few details that had not been made public previously. Annie's parents last saw her post on social media on Sunday. They noticed that she didn't post on social media at all on Monday which they found to be unusual as she usually posts daily. On Tuesday, after texting her daughter and getting no response, Michelle Schmidt began to become worried. On Wednesday, Michelle Schmidt flew to Portland for a camping trip she and daughter had planned previously but Annie wasn't there to pick her mom us from the airport. After renting a car and driving to her daughter's apartment, Annie's roommates informed her that they hadn't seen her since Sunday and that they thought the mother and daughter had already gone camping.

On Thursday the police were able to get a ping from Annie's phone but instead of taking them to her location, it led to Annie's car which was parked near the Columbia River Gorge and had been broken into, assumedly due to its being vacated for days. Police do not believe this is a result of foul play or that Annie is suicidal. Her family believes she is injured or lost.

We just found out that she might have tried to go set up a tent that she just received, her father, Jon Schmidt, told KOIN 6 News.

KOIN 6 also reported that Michelle Schmidt and her daughter had planned a camping trip in Portland which was scheduled to begin on Wednesday but when Michelle arrived in Portland, she learned her daughter hadn't been seen since Sunday.

“If anyone knows anyone who was hiking in this area, we would love if you would show your friends her picture on the website,” Schmidt told KATU on Thursday morning. “The more people that we get looking at her picture that were hiking here on Sunday, the better our chance of sending the dogs in the right direction. It’s literally a 50-mile area and it’s like a needle in a haystack.”

She was last seen on Sunday, Oct. 16, but was reported missing on Wednesday, Oct. 19. The Missing Persons Unit does not believe there to be foul play. Schmidt, who was hiking alone, is described by her father as an “adventurer.” The Missing Persons Unit says she recently purchased a new tent and backpack.

According to family friend Scott Sutton, Annie was a snowboard instructor in Park City before moving to the Portland area over the summer. Sutton says the family believes Annie only intended to take a day hike.

“Anyone with current information about Schmidt's whereabouts is asked to call 9-1-1,” the report said. “Anyone with non-emergency information is asked to contact Detective Heidi Helwig at heidi.helwig@portlandoregon.gov.”

Schmidt posted on Facebook while his wife, Michelle, also posted on Anna’s Facebook.
