Dixie State's men's golf team wrapped up its 2016 fall schedule with an 11th-place finish at the Cal State Monterey Bay Otter Fall Invitational on Tuesday at the Bayonet Golf Course in Seaside, California.
The Trailblazers (301-297-304), which began play tied for eighth place overall, carded a final round 16-over par 304 to finish with a team total of 902 (+38). Lynn University (288-290-287) posted a 1-under 287 en route to the team title at 1-over 865, while the host Otters (294-288-288) finished second five shots back at 870 (+6).
Sophomore Nicklaus Britt (70-72-72) led the Trailblazers as he placed a season-best fourth overall at minus-2 214 after firing a final round even par 72. Freshman Jayce Frampton (76-74-77) finished tied for 45th at 227 (+11), followed by sophomore John Reid (76-74-80-230, +14) who tied for 57th, freshman Alec Johnson (79-77-75-231, +15) who tied for 61st and freshman Carson Walker (82-82-80-244, +28) who tied for 83rd.
Dixie State opens the 2017 spring schedule at the Western New Mexico-hosted Visit Stockton Cactus Thaw on Feb. 13-14, at the Brookside Country Club in Stockton, California.
