The Utah Grizzlies, in conjunction with Broadway Media, announced Wednesday that ESPN 700 has been named the new flagship station for Grizzlies radio broadcasts starting with opening night on Friday, Oct. 14, when the Grizzlies host Idaho.
In addition to the game broadcasts on ESPN 700, the team will be featured twice a day during “Grizzlies In 60” that will air during morning and afternoon drive programming. ESPN 700’s afternoon show with Sean O’Connell and Brian Swinney will also broadcast live from Maverik Center prior to select Friday home games during the season from 2 p.m. – 6 p.m.
“ESPN 700 exhibited a strong commitment early on to becoming the new home for Grizzlies hockey,” Grizzlies Vice President of Communications and Broadcasting Adrian Denny said. “They do a phenomenal job promoting and producing games for their current play-by-play broadcast partners and they will do the same for us.”
Those at ESPN 700 are likewise happy to be working with the Grizzlies.
“We are extremely pleased to add the Grizzlies to the ESPN 700 family,” ESPN 700 Program Director Bill Riley said. “It gives us another outstanding local sports property to go along with Real Salt Lake and the University of Utah.”
Leading up to opening night, ESPN 700 will be giving away a pair of Grizzlies season tickets and a VIP Package for the first game that includes: four rinkside seats, the opportunity to watch warm-ups from the bench, an intermission ride on the Zamboni and the chance for the winning listener to drop the ceremonial first puck.
All games broadcast live on ESPN 700 will be heard online on ESPN700Sports and the ESPN 700 app. During conflicts with Real Salt Lake or the University of Utah, the Grizzlies will air on Utah’s Classic Country AM 1370, Class Country AM 1370 online and the Classic Country AM 1370 app.
