AMERICAN FORK — The Alpine School District Board of Education will host a series of community meetings to discuss a proposed $387 million bond that will be on the Nov. 8 ballot. The bond will address growth and safety issues throughout the district.

The meetings will be held at the following times and locations:

• Thursday, Sept. 29, 7 p.m., Vista Heights Middle School, 484 Pony Express Parkway, Saratoga Springs

• Tuesday, Oct. 4, 7 p.m., Canyon View Junior High School, 655 E. 950 North, Orem

• Thursday, Oct. 6, 7 p.m., American Fork Junior High School, 20 W. 1120 North

According to officials, the bond will not increase the amount residents pay on the school district portion of their taxes due to growth in new residences and businesses. The bond will be, among other things, to finance construction of a new high school, two new middle schools and six elementary schools, as well as rebuilds at four schools, renovations at 10 schools and land acquisition for future projects.
