SALT LAKE CITY — Police arrested a man Tuesday who they say was intoxicated and armed with two knives when he threatened multiple people at a Flying J truck stop.
Skyler Thompson, 34, was arrested for investigation of three counts of aggravated assault. Salt Lake police say Thompson was in the parking lot of the Flying J, 2100 South 900 West, about 2:45 p.m. and threatened several patrons.
At one point, Thompson went into an occupied vehicle and threatened to slit the throat of the driver, according to a Salt Lake County Jail report. The driver ran out of his car and Thompson chased him, the report states.
Two nearby witnesses attempted to help the driver, but Thompson ended up chasing them with a knife, too, according to the report.
When officers arrived, they found Thompson across the street and arrested him.
