The state high school basketball tournaments are in the books. From dramatic buzzer beaters to several upsets — and near upsets — it was a thrilling ride for many of the state tourney participants.

The five state champions on the girls side were Layton (5A), Bountiful (4A), Snow Canyon (3A), Delta (2A) and Panguitch (1A). Delta and Panguitch were repeat winners.

The boys state champions were Bingham (5A), Olympus (4A), Dixie (3A), Summit Academy (2A) and Diamond Ranch (1A). The titles were the first in school history for Olympus, Summit Academy and Diamond Ranch while Dixie won for the first time since 1970.

It took 159 playoff games to crown the 10 champions, and here are the Deseret News’ picks for the 10 best playoff games of the past three weeks.
