Bountiful's Kennedy Redding as Bountiful High School defeats Olympus High School in the first round on the girl's State 4A Tournament at Salt Lake Community College Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2015, in Taylorsville.

With defending champion Sky View now in 5A, there will be a new champion at this year’s 4A state tournament. The front runners appear to be Region 5 champion Bountiful, Region 7 champion Alta and Region 8 champion Springville.

Bountiful should have star player Kennedy Redding back in the lineup after she missed the last four games of the regular season after suffering a concussion. The Braves were 17-0 before she got hurt, but 1-3 with her on the sideline.

The other marquee player in 4A, however, won’t be back as Maple Mountain’s Liz Eaton — the state’s leading scorer — is out for the season with a torn ACL. Her injury has changed the dynamic of the 4A state tourney, which always seems to provide an upset or two along the way.

Here’s a team-by-team look at all 14 teams that have qualified for the state tournament, and then the four additional teams that tied for fourth in their respective regions and have play-in games on Saturday.
