Last season Region 9 teams dominated the 3A state tournament placing three teams in the semifinals, with both Pine View and Dixie advancing to the championship game. Will history repeat itself, especially with the last three rounds of this year’s tournament being held at Southern Utah in Cedar? It could, but Juan Diego and Logan are two very good teams from up North and are the most likely to crash the potential all-Region 9 party.

Six or seven 3A teams head into this year’s tourney with realistic state championship aspirations, and if the games unfold as expected it should be a great weekend of basketball at Southern Utah after the first round at home sites.

Here’s a team-by-team look at all 16 teams in the state tournament, and what to expect
