SALT LAKE CITY — Donny Osmond is coming to RootsTech in 2015.
It was announced Wednesday that Osmond, the entertainer, actor, singer and television host, will be a keynote speaker at the world's largest family history conference on Saturday, Feb. 14, 2015.
"I’m already looking forward to this exciting event,” Osmond said in a press release. "Family and family stories are obviously very important to me. This is a chance to connect to something that is part of who I am."
The Osmond family has been actively involved in family history work since the 1950s. The family has posted research and records at www.osmondfamily.org/1 comment on this story
Osmond plans to celebrate five decades in show business by releasing his 60th album, "Soundtrack of My Life," just prior to the RootsTech 2015 conference. Each track on the album tells a story from his professional or personal life, Osmond said in the release.
"My family and the stories we share are such an important part of my life, so RootsTech is just the perfect place to celebrate that," Osmond said.
The RootsTech conference is hosted by FamilySearch International, a nonprofit organization of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The conference celebrates family history through technology.
