BYU announced another football series Wednesday, this one a four-game set against Massachusetts.

The Cougars and Minutemen will play each year from 2016 through 2019. The first two games — on Oct. 8, 2016, and Nov. 18, 2017 — will take place at LaVell Edwards Stadium. The final two will happen at the New England Patriots' Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts, on Nov. 10, 2018, and Nov. 23, 2019.

“With UMass joining BYU as an independent football program in 2016, this series makes a lot of sense for both schools,” BYU director of athletics Tom Holmoe said in a news release. “It will be a great experience for our team to play at Gillette Stadium — home of the New England Patriots — in front of the BYU faithful in that part of the country.”

UMass currently competes in the Mid-American Conference in football but will become an independent in 2016.

BYU and UMass have never met on the football field.
