Utahns in baseball: Former Ute Tyler Wagner, former Cougar Taylor Cole finally face off in Florida

Parker Morin (Utah), Omaha (Kansas City Royals): Promoted to Triple-A Omaha on Sunday after batting .206 in 55 games with Double-A Northwest Arkansas. In that time, Morin collected 10 extra base hits and 16 RBIs.

Matt Spring (Dixie State), Pawtucket (Boston Red Sox): Remains on the 7-day disabled list. Spring is batting .265, with two home runs and seven RBIs in 12 games with the PawSox this season.


Tyson Brummett (Spanish Fork H.S.), Chattanooga (Los Angeles Dodgers): Remains on the 7-day disabled list. Brummett is 4-5, with a 2.79 ERA in 13 starts for Chattanooga. He last pitched on July 16.

Braeden Schlehuber (Viewmont H.S.), Mississippi (Atlanta Braves): Two hits and two RBIs in 10 at-bats this week. Schlehuber is batting .234 in 76 games this season, with 14 extra base hits and 41 RBIs.


Eddy Alvarez (SLCC), Kannapolis (Chicago White Sox): 10 hits, one home run, eight RBIs and three runs in 24 at-bats throughout the week. Alvarez is batting .449, with three home runs, six doubles, 14 RBIs and 11 runs scored in 17 games with the Intimidators.

Tanner Banks (Utah), Kannapolis (Chicago White Sox): Allowed two hits in 2 1/3 shutout innings in his debut with the Intimidators. Banks was called up on Thursday, receiving his first promotion since being drafted by the White Sox.

Jaycob Brugman (BYU), Stockton (Oakland Athletics): Five hits, one home run, four RBIs and four runs scored in 24 at-bats over the week. Brugman is batting .282 in 50 games with Stockton. He also has 13 home runs, six doubles and 35 RBIs with the Ports.

Chris Capper (BYU), South Bend (Arizona Diamondbacks): Remains on the 7-day disabled list. Has yet to appear in a game with the Silver Hawks this season.

Taylor Cole (BYU), Dunedin (Toronto Blue Jays): Allowed two hits, one walk and one run while striking out four batters in two innings. Cole picked up a loss in his start, ending the regular season 8-9. He is expected to start Dunedin’s playoff game on Wednesday and is three strikeouts away from the D-Jays’ season strikeout record of 174.

Jake Hannemann (BYU), Daytona (Chicago Cubs): Four hits, two RBIs and one run scored in 21 at-bats throughout the week. Hannemann learned on Tuesday he will also participate in the Arizona Fall League in October. He batted .253 in 141 games in the minors this season.

Adam Law (BYU), Rancho Cucamonga (Los Angeles Dodgers): Eight hits, five RBIs and three runs in 23 at-bats over the week. Law is batting .275, with 37 RBIs and 64 runs scored in 105 games with the Quakes.

Brady Lail (Bingham H.S.), Tampa (New York Yankees): Allowed two hits and one walk in six shutout innings while striking out seven batters in a win over Daytona on Saturday. Lail ends his 2014 season with an 11-5 record and 3.62 ERA between Tampa and lower Single-A Charleston.

Marcus Littlewood (Pine View H.S.), High Desert (Seattle Mariners): Three hits, one home run, three RBIs and three runs scored in 18 at-bats throughout the week. Littlewood is batting .212 in nine games with High Desert, including one home run, three doubles and five RBIs.

Adam Miller (BYU), South Bend (Arizona Diamondbacks): 0-0, 0.00 ERA in two appearances over the week. Miller allowed just three combined hits in the two games against Bowling Green. Miller likely will end his season with a 5-1 record and 3.40 ERA in 24 games.

Dominique Taylor (Northridge H.S.), Lexington (Kansas City Royals): Six hits, two RBIs and 19 at-bats throughout the week. Taylor is batting .300, with seven home runs, 16 doubles and 40 RBIs in 88 games with the Legends.

Tyler Wagner (Utah), Brevard County (Milwaukee Brewers): Allowed two walks and no hits in four shutout innings in a no-decision against Dunedin on Saturday. Wagner concludes his 2014 season with a 13-6 record and 1.86 ERA with Brevard County. He was also selected to participate in the Arizona Fall League in October.

Keenyn Walker (Judge Memorial H.S.), Winston-Salem (Chicago White Sox): Seven hits, one RBI and two runs scored in 22 at-bats throughout the week. Walker is batting .214 in 69 games with Winston-Salem.

Short Season Leagues:

Bubba Blau (Dixie State), Arizona Brewers (Milwaukee Brewers): Allowed one hit and one run in three innings on Monday. Blau has a 4.05 ERA in 11 games with the AZL Brewers this season.

Nick Green (Utah), Idaho Falls (Kansas City Royals): Allowed one hit while striking out one in one inning of work on Sunday. He has a 3.68 ERA in 13 games this season.

Kavin Keyes (Alta H.S.), Arizona Mariners (Seattle Mariners): Four hits and three runs scored in 10 at-bats throughout the week. He’s batting .281 over his last 10 games.

Colter Moore (Utah State-Eastern), Bristol (Pittsburgh Pirates): Allowed one walk while striking out two batters in two shutout innings on Thursday. He has an 8.44 ERA in four games this season.

Trey Nielsen (Utah), State College (St. Louis Cardinals): Allowed three hits and one run while striking out seven in five innings, picking up a no-decision on Sunday. He has a 2.50 ERA this season.

Mitch Watrous (Utah), Arizona Padres (San Diego Padres): Did not pitch this week. Watrous has a 10.80 ERA in three appearances with the AZL Padres.
