The Utah Valley University volleyball team held its annual Green and White scrimmage Tuesday evening in the PE Building, and the White team defeated the Green team in a shortened two-set contest (25-19, 25-19).

Sophomore outside hitter Nakisha Willden led the White squad on the night with eight kills, while senior outside Kalani Norris was right behind her with seven. Freshmen Sierra Starley (setter), Madison Wolford (middle blocker) and Cydney Lund (defensive specialist) too played well for the White team as Starley recorded 17 assists, Wolford put up a .571 attack percentage and three blocks, and Lund notched 10 digs.

Sophomore outside hitter Macky Treanor and her eight kills paced the Green team. Junior middle blocker and WAC Preseason Player of the Year Lauren Bakker also had a nice contest for team Green as she logged five kills, five blocks and a .357 hitting percentage.

UVU officially begins its season Friday in Lawrence, Kansas. The Wolverines have a tough weekend ahead of them, as they'll face No. 22 Kansas and No. 23 Creighton on Friday at 10:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. MT, respectively, and Lipscomb of the Atlantic Sun Conference on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. MT. Following this weekend's action, the Wolverines will have a quick turnaround to their next match as they'll take on the University of Wyoming at Evanston High School in Evanston, Wyoming, on Monday afternoon before heading to BYU for another tournament the following weekend.
