State Park Ranger Kevin Taylor said a group of ATV riders were returning from a ride at approximately 9:45 when one of the vehicles, a side-by-side Polaris Ranger, overturned, ejecting three occupants.
The driver, a 44-year-old man, and a 12-year-old girl were both injured and transported by helicopter to University of Utah Hospital and Primary Children's hospital, respectively.
A third occupant, a 9-year-old boy, was also ejected but did not require hospitalization, Taylor said.
"It appears that speed may have played a factor and also the terrain they were riding in," he said.
