Ex-Ute Tyler Wagner keeps rolling

Prior to Wednesday, Miller hadn’t allowed an earned run since coming off the disabled list and joining the bullpen on July 8. He has a 3.11 ERA in 46 1/3 innings in South Bend.

Dominique Taylor (Northridge H.S.), Lexington (Kansas City Royals): Two hits, one triple and three runs scored in 10 at-bats throughout the week. Taylor, who is batting .301 in Lexington this year, returned to the Legends on Thursday after a brief rehab stint. He hadn’t played since going on the disabled list on June 25.

Tyler Wagner (Utah), Brevard County (Milwaukee Brewers): 2-0, 0.82 ERA in two separate starts during the week. Wagner allowed just two hits and one walk in six shutout innings, leading the Manatees to a win over Jupiter on Monday. He then allowed six hits and two runs (one earned) in five innings, as Brevard County defeated Bradenton on Saturday.

The lone earned run was just Wagner’s third earned run allowed over his last 52 1/3 innings (0.52 ERA). Wagner also improved to 11-4 on the week, placing him a tie for most wins in the Florida State League this season with Bradenton’s Chad Kuhl. Wagner also leads the FSL with a 1.54 ERA.

Keenyn Walker (Judge Memorial H.S.), Winston-Salem (Chicago White Sox): Five hits, one double, three RBIs and four runs scored in 17 at-bats throughout the week. Walker is batting .201 in Winston-Salem this season.

Short Season Leagues:

Eddy Alvarez (Salt Lake C.C.), Arizona White Sox (Chicago White Sox): Three hits, one home run, one RBI and one run scored in 13 at-bats throughout the week. The 2014 Winter Olympian is batting .287 on the season, with eight extra base hits and nine RBIs.

Tanner Banks (Utah), Arizona White Sox (Chicago White Sox): Allowed two hits and one run, while striking out four in 2 1/3 innings against the AZL Rangers on Thursday. The former Ute is 1-1, with a 1.80 ERA in 10 games to start his professional career.

Bubba Blau (Dixie State), Arizona Brewers (Milwaukee Brewers): Did not make an appearance this week. Blau is 1-3, with a 3.48 ERA in eight games in the Rookie Arizona League.

Nick Green (Utah), Idaho Falls (Kansas City Royals): Allowed one hit in 2 1/3 scoreless innings against Ogden on Tuesday, striking out five batters in the process. Green is 0-1, with a 2.79 ERA in nine games this season.

Kavin Keyes (Alta H.S.), Arizona Mariners (Seattle Mariners): One hit and one run scored in 11 at-bats throughout the week. Keyes is batting .226 in 15 games this season.

Trey Nielsen (Utah), State College (St. Louis Cardinals): 0-1, 0.00 ERA in two starts throughout the week. Nielson allowed just one hit and one walk in four shutout innings against Mahoning Valley on Monday. He then allowed one unearned run on three hits and one walk on Sunday, picking up a loss to Hudson Valley.

Mitch Watrous (Utah), Arizona Padres (San Diego Padres): Remains on reserve list. Has not made minor league debut yet.
