The University of Utah came within one point of equaling the school record for multi-year academic progress rate (APR) calculations. Its score of 980 for the time periods covering 2009-10, 2010-11, 2011-12 and 2012-13 was just shy of matching the mark of 981 recorded over the four-year span beginning in 2008-09.
Gymnastics (996), men’s tennis (990), baseball (988) and men’s golf (987) posted multi-year scores that rank in the top third of the Pac-12 Conference. The football program raised its score to 970 after posting a single-year team record of 985 in 2012-13.
Eight Utah teams had perfect APR scores of 1,000 in 2012-13. The programs include men’s basketball, men’s golf, men’s skiing, men’s tennis, volleyball, women’s skiing, women’s soccer and women’s tennis.
The same number of sports increased their multi-year scores from the previous period. Women’s soccer had a 10-point increase, followed by women’s tennis (plus-7); baseball, football and volleyball (plus-5); and then men’s skiing, softball and women’s swimming (plus-1).
