SALT LAKE CITY — Pretzelmaker will give away 65,000 free pretzels on National Pretzel Day while raising funds and awareness for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.

Customers are invited to visit local Pretzelmaker stores to receive a free soft pretzel on Saturday. Last year, the shop gave away 40,000 free pretzels in celebration of the national day of observance.

During National Pretzel Day, customers will be encouraged but not obligated to make an in-kind donation of any amount to the society.

If the company achieves its goal and breaks its free pretzel record, Pretzelmaker will make a corporate contribution to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, which seeks to find cures and ensure access to treatments for blood cancer patients.

Customers can also make donations online by visiting pages.lightthenight.org/2014/globalfranchisegroup.

Utah customers can visit the following Pretzelmaker locations: Layton Hills Mall, Layton; Cache Valley Mall, Logan; Fashion Place Mall, Murray; Newgate Mall, Ogden (two locations); University Mall, Orem (two locations); Provo Towne Center; Red Cliffs Mall, St. George; and 30 N. State, Morgan.
