The Utah Valley University basketball team was honored for its successful 2013-14 season by Orem City Mayor Richard Brunst at Tuesday's Orem City Council meeting.

A proclamation was read at the meeting, recognizing the team for its WAC regular season championship and coach Dick Hunsaker for his WAC Don Haskins Coach of the Year award. The team members and coach Hunsaker also presented Mayor Brunst with an autographed team ball.

The Wolverines, who went 13-3 in their first WAC season, finished 20-12 overall and had two seniors — Ben Aird and Holton Hunsaker — also named first-team All-WAC. The season also included the program's first trip to the NIT.
