The Utah Valley University women's golf team concludes its regular season on Monday and Tuesday at the Wyoming Cowgirl Classic in Maricopa, Ariz. The 54-hole tournament will be contested at the Ak-Chin Southern Dunes Golf Club.

The Wyoming Cowgirl Classic features 20 teams and 108 golfers. The tournament will tee off Monday with two rounds starting at 8:45 a.m. MT. The event will then wrap up Tuesday with a single round beginning at 8:45 a.m. MT as well. Live scoring will be available throughout the tournament by visiting GolfStat's website.

Besides the Wolverines and host Cowgirls, the tournament will also consist of BYU, Boise State, Eastern Washington, Lamar, Montana, Montana State, Nevada, New Mexico State, Northern Colorado, Oral Roberts, Portland State, Sacramento State, Santa Clara, Seattle U, Southern Utah, UTEP, Tulsa and Weber State.

Juniors Brooke Whittaker, Heather Mathison and Hannah Herman, along with freshmen Kimberly Nyhus and Monica Yeates will make up UVU's lineup at the tournament.

Whittaker leads the Wolverines on the season with a 78.26 scoring average and has led UVU at two of the four tournaments in the spring. In those two top finishes for Utah Valley, Whittaker finished in 11th place at the SUU Invitational (+10) and 15th at the Grand Canyon Women's Spring Invite (+17). Nyhus and Herman led the Wolverines at the other two spring tournaments, as Nyhus placed 28th at NAU's Red Rocks Invite (+11) and Herman took 48th at the BYU at Entrada Classic (+31) a couple of weeks ago.

Last season, UVU tied host Wyoming for 11th place out of 19 teams at the Classic with a three round total of 954. Former standout Jordyn Dougal led the way by finishing in 10th place after carding 12-over par. Following the Wyoming Cowgirl Classic, UVU will prepare for its first WAC Championship that takes place April 25-27 at the Longbow Golf Club in Mesa, Ariz.
