Salt Lake City to take park pavilion reservations

The City Parks and Public Lands Division will begin taking 2014 park pavilion reservations on Saturday, March 1, from 9 a.m. to noon on a walk-in only basis at its office, 1965 W. 500 South.

SALT LAKE CITY — The City Parks and Public Lands Division will begin taking 2014 park pavilion reservations on Saturday, March 1, from 9 a.m. to noon on a walk-in only basis at its office, 1965 W. 500 South.

Pavilions can be reserved by cash, check or credit card payment at the office. Reservation dates are available for April 14 to Oct. 12 at Fairmont, Jordan, Liberty, Lindsey Gardens, Poplar Grove, Riverside, Sherwood, Sunnyside, Washington and Westpointe parks. All other dates are available on a first-come, first-served basis

Pavilions rent for $41.48 for city residents, $51.85 for nonresidents. Half-day rentals of Liberty Park pavilions, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 3 p.m. to 10 p.m., are the same price scale. Washington Park in Parleys Canyon also has pavilions available on the half-day schedule, and rent is for $77.78 for residents, $103.70 for nonresidents.

The division will begin taking phone reservations starting Monday, March 3 at 8:30 a.m. at 801-972-7860. Phone reservations can be made Monday-Friday from 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. and require immediate credit card payment.

Recreation kits, which include two softballs, two baseball bats, a volleyball and volleyball net, a set of horseshoes, a football and a soccer ball, can be picked up on weekdays from 8 a.m.-4:45 p.m. the day of, or the day before the reservation. The total rental cost of $11.08 will be collected at time of pickup. Recreation kits are due back the business day after the reservation. Recreation kits are not available for City Creek Canyon reservations.
