MURRAY — The Intermountain Medical Center Heart Institute is hoping to help Utahns with a free heart health fair from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday.

The event is billed as the state's largest health fair, attracting around 4,000 people last year. It offers free health screenings, including blood pressure and body fat testing, as well as risk assessments, heart-healthy cooking demonstrations and other heart-healthy activities.

Attendees will also have an opportunity to speak with heart specialists, see the newest heart treatment technology and learn more about the latest heart health research.

"There will be lots of resources and information available at the fair, so it's a great opportunity for people to learn how they can take steps to enhance their heart health," said Dr. Donald Lappe, chief of cardiology at the Intermountain Heart Institute.

Registration for the fair, held at the hospital's Murray location, 5121 S. Cottonwood St., is not necessary. More information is available by calling the Intermountain Heart Institute at 801-507-4701.
