Utah Valley University women's soccer coach Brent Anderson announced the signing of eight student-athletes who will join the Wolverines this fall. The signees complete a recruiting class that includes JC transfer and NSCAA Player of the Year Kasandra Anderson, who enrolled at UVU prior to the spring semester.

Signing their letters of intent on Wednesday were Sarah Cipperley (Canyon Country, Calif.), Sarah Davis (Ewa Beach, Hawai'i), Sydney Fitzpatrick (Sandy, Utah), Tara Furlong (West Jordan, Utah), Amanda Marshall (Orem, Utah), Breanna McCarter (Gilbert, Ariz.), Tori Smith (Sandy, Utah) and Libby Weber (Riverton, Utah).

"This is another excellent recruiting class for us," Anderson said. "We had some specific needs to fill and I think that we have done a great job of bringing in some exceptional girls who will have a very positive effect on the team and raise our ability to compete in the WAC. Each of these recruits has been competing with top level teams and coaches and they all have excellent leadership qualities. I am looking forward to each one bringing their unique personalities and talents to our program."

Cipperley is one of three out-of-state players to sign with the Wolverines. She prepped at Canyon High School in California where she was a four-year letterwinner and two-time first-team All-League performer. Cipperley was also named team MVP and ran track at Canyon HS and was a CIF qualifier. She plans to major in communications at UVU.

Davis prepped at Kamehameha Schools Kapalama in Honolulu, Hawai'i. She helped her team to a Division I State Championship in 2012 and was named to the All-Tournament team and to the ILH second team. Davis also participated at the Gothia Cup Tournament in Sweden in 2012. She plans to major in education at UVU.

Fitzpatrick was a member of a four-time Region and 2011 State Championship team at Alta HS in Sandy, Utah, where she ranked third in 5A in scoring in 2013. Davis was also part of six state championships on her club team (Sparta). Her club team was also a Far West Regional IV Finalist in 2013 and a US Club Soccer National Cup Finalist in 2011. Fitzpatrick, whose uncle Brian McBeth played baseball at UVU in the '90s, plans to major in business.

Furlong is a four-year letterwinner at Murray High School, where she was the team MVP three times during her career. She's a four-time All-Region performer and led her team in assists for four straight seasons. Furlong plans to major in exercise science at UVU.

Marshall prepped at Timpanogos High School in Orem and was a four-year letterwinner. She helped the Timberwolves to two state championships and three region championships. Marshall also played basketball and ran track and cross-country. She played club soccer for La Roca and plans to major in exercise science at Utah Valley.

McCarter prepped at Highland High School in Gilbert, Ariz. In 2012, she was named second team All-Division and All-Sectional while helping her team to an Arizona State Championship. She played club for Sereno and was on a state championship team in 2009. She will major in exercise science and plans to attend physical therapy school.

Smith is four-year letterwinner at Jordan High School in Sandy, Utah. She won the team Golden Boot award after setting a school record with 17 goals during the 2012 season. She was named first-team All-State in 2012 and was the Region III Outstanding Striker in 2012 and Outstanding Midfielder in 2013. She played club for the Avalanche Soccer Club and Sparta United, helping her team to two state championships. Smith will major in accounting at UVU.

Weber rounds out the class and is one of five signees from Utah. She is a three-time All-State selection, earning second team honors in 2013 and was also team MVP at Bingham High School in South Jordan, Utah. She was also second-team All-State and first-team All-Region as a junior and honorable mention All-State and All-Region as a sophomore. She is undecided on her major at UVU.
