SALT LAKE CITY — A local advocacy group is introducing a program aimed at bringing hundreds of jobs to the Wasatch Front in conjunction with a for-profit partner.
Angel’s Hands Foundation, a nonprofit organization assisting Utah families with children with rare diseases, announced a collaboration effort with Florida-based CustomerContactChannels, known as C3, a provider of customer management solutions, to offer long-term career opportunities in Salt Lake City.
C3 is expanding its customer contact center in Salt Lake City with plans to fill approximately 700 full-time jobs in the health care sector. For each applicant hired, the company will donate $100 to Angel’s Hands — up to the first 100 new employees.
“This is a win-win situation for everyone," said Angel’s Hands president and co-founder Mark Kristensen. “Our community gets much-needed, high-quality jobs, and our organization will receive a generous cash infusion to further our efforts to help families deal with the pain and suffering associated with rare diseases.”
According to Ken Epstein, executive vice president of global marketing for C3, most of the jobs will be full-time health care customer service representatives, though there will be some management positions as well. The jobs will support clients in the telecommunications, health care and social commerce industries.
“In addition to a competitive compensation plan, C3 will provide 100 percent paid training,” he said.
“One of C3’s core values is to become a truly integral part of each of the communities where we operate our centers,” Epstein added. “We have been working very closely with Angel’s Hands over the past three years and we are thrilled to continue our support through this initiative.”
Angel’s Hands Foundation supports families by paying medical bills and purchasing equipment not covered by insurance, Kristensen said.
“Even with benefits, these families often struggle to give their children some of the simple joys in life, (such as) hearing aids, wheelchairs, specialty strollers, special beds, braces, therapy spas, specialty bicycles, air conditioning, air filtration systems and specialty bath tubs,” he said.
Prospective applicants can apply at the company’s “Making a Difference” training center at 5205 Wiley Post Way. The joint promotion will end Oct. 25 or when the program reaches its goal of 100 applicants hired.
