The second trailer of the film adaptation of Orson Scott Card's "Ender's Game" was released Tuesday.

The trailer originally premiered at the "Ender's Game" panel at San Diego's Comic-Con in July but was not released to the public until Tuesday.

The trailer, like the first, showcases the space battles and the development of a talented child who becomes humanity's hope against a race of aliens. Ships rise from an alien planet. Space cadets at a military training school use computers and holograms to plan attacks.

But the trailer also hints at the moral and philosophical themes of "Ender's Game," particularly the involvement of children in war.

The film opens Nov. 1, 2013.
