ST. GEORGE — Brad Wulfenstein was sensational on his home track Saturday.

The senior hurdler won both the 110 and 300 hurdles at the Desert Hills Invitational, setting the best mark in Utah in both events.

He won the 110 hurdles with a time of 14.48 seconds and the 300 hurdles with a time of 38.92.

Wulfenstein was one of six individual winners for Desert Hills as it easily won the 11-team invite. Desert Hills’ boys tallied 137 points, with Westlake finishing a distant second with 107 points.

Though his team finished second, Westlake’s Austin Brower had a sensational performance as well. He won the 800 and 1,600 meters, both with times in the top 10 in Utah this year. His 4:18.91 time in the 1,600 is the second-best mark in the state.

Desert Hills’ Chandler Swaney had a strong meet too, winning the long jump at 21-08.75, the fourth-best jump in the state.

On the girls side, Cedar finished with three individual winners to claim the team title, followed by Lehi in second and Hurricane in third.

Cedar’s Kayla Shakespeare won the 100 and 200 meters — both with top 10 performances. Teammate Aimee Bryson was Cedar’s other individual winner as she won the 1,600.

Other top 10 performances were turned in by Lehi’s Maddy Kauffman in the 800 meters and Pine View’s Jodi Aitui in the shotput. Aitui’s 40-05.50 throw in the shotput is the second-best mark in Utah this year. Aitui also won the discus.
