USU golf: Tanner Higham finished tied for 40th at Wyoming hosted Cowboy Classic

Utah State junior golfer Tanner Higham (Shelley, Idaho) shot a final round 2-over 72 to finish tied for 40th place with a 9-over 149 at the Wyoming hosted Cowboy Classic held at the Talking Stick-North Course. Higham carded a 7-over 77 during his opening round Monday.

Utah State finished in 22nd place in the 24-team field with a 54-over 614 (322-292). Gonzaga won the tournament championship with a 14-over 574 (299-275), while UC Santa Barbara’s Glen Scher took medalist honors with a 2-under par 138 (70-68).

Senior Brendan Dennis (Roosevelt, Utah) tied for 80th place for Utah State with a 14-over 154 (81-73), while freshman Seokwon Jeon (Salt Lake City, Utah) tied for 100th with an 18-over 158 (86-72). Freshman Reed Platke (Whitefish, Mont.) finished tied for 116th with a 22-over 162 (78-84), and junior Zach Waxler (Casper, Wyo.) tied for 119th place with a 23-over 163 (88-75).

Utah State returns to action Friday, April 26, when it competes in the BYU hosted PING Cougar Classic.
