BYU tennis: Cougar women's tennis faces back-to-back conference matches in California
PROVO, Utah – After earning a win in its conference debut, the BYU women’s tennis team travels to California to play league opponents San Francisco on Friday and Santa Clara on Saturday.
The Cougars (7-5, 1-0 West Coast Conference) face the Dons (6-5, 0-2 WCC) at 1 p.m. PDT on Friday and the Broncos (5-5, 1-0 WCC) at noon PDT on Saturday.
In doubles play, teammates Aubrey Paul and Desiree Tran have won eight of their nine matches this season. Morgan Anderson and Mackenna Maddox also share a team-high eight wins.
With a 5-2 win over Portland, Paul improved to 9-3 on the year at the No. 6 singles position.
Santa Clara has won three of its last four matches, including a 4-3 win over San Francisco.
The Dons have played eight consecutive matches at home but are still looking for their first conference victory.
BYU will also play two more league matches in California against San Diego on March 29 and Saint Mary’s on March 30.
