The high school boys soccer season got underway last week for many of the teams in Class 3A and 2A, with Class 5A and 4A teams diving into action this week. You can access schedules for all 100 teams from the Deseret News standings page.
Here’s a look at the Deseret News preseason rankings as voted on by the coaches. Interestingly enough, all four state champions (Davis, Olympus, Dixie and Manti) begin the season ranked No. 2 in their respective classification.
Every coach was invited to vote in the preseason rankings, with about half participating. First-place votes are in parenthesis along with last year’s record.

The high school soccer rankings will be updated Monday each week. Check back on Tuesday this week for region-by-region projections for all 16 regions in the state, 5A through 2A.
