FERRON, Emery County — The Sevier County Sheriff's Office has confirmed a man was killed in an avalanche about 10 miles southwest of Ferron.
Dispatchers said they received a call at 5:20 p.m. about a trapped snowmobiler and deployed a search and rescue unit. The search was later canceled and has since been deemed a recovery effort.
Police have not released the name or age of the victim.
