PROVO, Utah — Coming off its first weekend away from home, the BYU women's tennis team will return to the BYU Indoor Tennis Courts to host in-state rival Utah on Saturday at 11 a.m. MST.
The match is part of the annual Deseret First Duel with the winner receiving three points toward the overall competition between the schools. Both schools are currently tied at 19.
The Cougars' last match was a 5-2 win over Iowa State. Although BYU (5-1) fell to No. 67 UNLV last week, sophomore Morgan Anderson and freshman Mackenna Maddox remain undefeated at the No. 2 doubles position. The duo of senior Aubrey Paul and junior Desiree Tran is also 6-0 on the season at the No. 3 doubles spot.
BYU owns a 36-10 advantage all-time against the Utes.
Utah (4-2) is coming off wins last week against Boise State and New Mexico. The Utes are led by No. 79 Tereza Bekerova. The junior is also ranked No. 17 in doubles along with teammate Paige Miles.
Admission is free.
