Despite leading all scorers, Tyler Haws' 27 points were not enough as the BYU Cougars fell to the San Diego Toreros, 72-68.
BYU could not capitalize from the free-throw line, hitting only 11 of 22. Brandon Davies had 20 points and 10 rebounds but was only 4 for 10 from the line. BYU also had 12 steals.
At one point BYU led by as many as nine points, but the Toreros came back to lead by four at the half and never trailed again.
Johnny Dee led the Toreros, who shot 50 percent from the field, with 19 points.

NIT is the best place for this team. Gain some experience - play some extra games at home. NCAA is another one and done for this team.
Tough game to watch tonight... It almost seems like these guys don't practice free throw shooting at all...
Brief Opinions on the BYU Bunch:
Matt Carlino... was a liability tonight... little penetration, 3 pt shots out of More..
Missing 10 free throws is worse than ward ball. Time to re-earn their scholarships with 50 hours of free throw practice. Absolutely pathetic.
