SALT LAKE CITY — A Utah man has been indicted by a federal grand jury for production and possession of child pornography.

John Reid Clayton, 29, of Stansbury Park, is accused of using four children — born in 2007, 2010 and 2011 — to produce depictions of sexual conduct, according to an indictment filed Wednesday. Clayton did so knowing the images would likely be transmitted across state lines, charges state.

Each of the four counts of producing child pornography carries a potential minimum mandatory sentence of 15 years in prison and a maximum 30-year sentence.

The indictment follows an investigation by Tooele city and county law enforcement, along with the Utah Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force. Clayton is currently in state custody and now faces a federal arrest warrant.
