WEST VALLEY CITY — Police say a 26-year-old intoxicated woman drove into a garage Saturday, causing tens of thousands of dollars in damage.
About 10:30 a.m., a woman missed a turn at the intersection of 4100 South and 4400 West and crashed into a garage at 4392 W. 4100 South.
"It's going to be a lot of work for us to get it fixed," said Gary Everett, whose son is renting the house that was damaged. "People shouldn't be drinking and driving. This is nonsense ... very irritating. I hope she gets her life straightened out."
The woman was given a breathalyzer test and blood was drawn for further testing. Police were unsure Saturday if she was impaired on drugs or alcohol. She was arrested for investigation of DUI but issued a citation at the scene and released instead of being taken to jail. Police did not release her name Saturday.

It would really be news if some desirable event took place and alcohol was a major contributing factor. Alcohol is not very well known for bringing out the best in people.
