SALT LAKE CITY — Police were looking for a man Thursday who they say robbed a movie theater.
A man walked up to the concession stand in Movies 10, 2227 S. Highland Drive, just before midnight and asked for a half bag of popcorn, said Salt Lake Police Lt. James Tracy.
"When (the employee) turned around, he started to ring up the purchase, the male told him to put all the money in the bag also and flashed a handgun," Tracy said.
The man pulled up his shirt to reveal a black handgun tucked in his waistband. He left with an undisclosed amount of cash.
The only description police had was a middle-aged white male last seen driving a tan vehicle. Investigators hoped to get additional evidence by checking the video surveillance cameras of the theater and nearby businesses.
Anyone with information can call police at 801-799-3000.

@LDS lib,
Yes, if someone threatened myself or a loved one with a gun, I'd happily and quickly return fire.
With no remorse.
And,
According to some DN posters on the Opinion page regarding gun rights --
They honestly believe they have the "right" to shoot this guy for stealing popcorn!
