Despite shooting just 34 percent from the floor, the Utah State Aggies only trail the Saint Mary's Gaels by three points at halftime, 34-31.
Forward Kyisean Reed scored eight points and Jarred Shaw added five points and seven rebounds for the Aggies. Matthew Dellavedova and James Walker III led the Gaels with 12 points each.
The Aggies dominated the glass in the first half, outrebounding the Gaels 22-10 and 13-1 on the offensive boards. That helped to offset a poor shooting performance from the team.
