Summary

An international collaboration that includes BYU has discovered a rare genetic mutation that greatly increases risk of Alzheimer's disease. And they showed they can use new ways to find rare changes that confer large risk for disease.

This is a cruel disease. It hits the elderly at a time of life when they have been left with little else other than their memories and then that starts to go. Staving off the onset of Alzheimer's would benefit countless people in the world.
