“They know it's going to be a huge challenge. East is a great football team, there’s no question about that. Anybody who would say otherwise probably has never seen them play because they’re a great football team — one of the best in the state obviously,” Wilson said. “Very talented, very well coached. We’re certainly aware of the challenge and knowing that we’re going to have to play probably our best game of the season to have an opportunity to be successful against them.”
The Mustangs certainly have the offensive power to compete after scoring 50 points or more five times this season. They’ll need big performances from Francis Bernard and Tueni Lupeamanu to pull off the upset and secure the first playoff win in program history.
“We don’t have any history or that tradition or foundation to draw from so everything that we’re doing is brand new,” Wilson said. “When things are brand new, you never know how you’re going to respond.”
