USU football: Utah State football ranks 11th in the nation in total defense again

Senior linebacker Bojay Filimoeatu ranks tied for ninth in the WAC in tackles for loss (0.90 pg) and 19th in tackles (6.4 pg). Senior safety McKade Brady ranks seventh in the WAC in tackles (7.8 pg). Junior linebacker Jake Doughty ranks 16th in the WAC in tackles (6.8 pg). Sophomore safety Brian Suite ranks tied for 17th in the WAC in tackles (6.6 pg). Redshirt freshman linebacker Kyler Fackrell ranks 36th in the WAC in tackles (5.2 pg). Junior cornerback Nevin Lawson ranks 37th in the WAC in tackles (5.0 pg). Senior cornerback Will Davis ranks first in the WAC in passes defended (2.0pg), and fellow senior cornerback Terrence Alston ranks tied for fifth in the WAC in passes defended (1.20 pg). And senior punter Tyler Bennett ranks fourth in the WAC and 31st in the nation in punting (43.4 ypk).

Utah State plays its third in-state opponent of the season this weekend as it travels to Provo to face BYU on Friday, Oct. 5 at 8:15 p.m., in a game that will be televised nationally on ESPN.
