UVU cross-country: Krystal Harper named GWC Runner of the Week
NAPERVILLE, Ill. – Utah Valley's Krystal Harper and Texas-Pan American's Martin Casse have been named Great West Conference Runners of the Week after outstanding performances last week. The award was announced Wednesday by the conference office.
The women's honor went to Harper after an eighth-place finish at the BYU Autumn Classic in Orem, Utah. The senior, who is from Orem, Utah, ran a 5K time of 17:43.6 in a race that featured 53 competitors from host BYU, Idaho State, Weber State and Utah Valley.
Casse, a sophomore from Toulouse, France, finished third with a time of 15:50 at the Ricardo Romo Classic in San Antonio, Texas, last Friday, leading the Broncs to a second-place finish. The 5K race featured eight teams and 69 competitors and was won by host Texas-San Antonio.
