Utah State soccer player Ashlyn Mulford was named the Western Athletic Conference Goalkeeper of the Week; the league announced Monday. This was Mulford’s second-straight WAC Goalkeeper of the Week honor and third this season.

Mulford, a senior goalkeeper from West Valley City, Utah (Cyprus HS), allowed only a penalty kick in the Aggies 1-1 tie against No. 23 Washington. Mulford made three saves as she helped the USU defense keep the highly-powered Husky offense at bay until the penalty kick in the 85th minute. Mulford kept a clean sheet in overtime as the Aggies earned their first tie against a nationally-ranked opponent in school history.

Denver forward Nicholette DiGiacomo was named WAC Offensive Player of the Week, after she assisted the game-winning goal in a 1-0 victory at Kansas. She also netted a 28-yard free kick to jump-start a late two-goal comeback to tie Texas, 3-3.

Louisiana Tech defender Mo Rockwell earned WAC Defensive Player of the Week honors. Rockwell led the Lady Techsters to a pair of wins last week.

The Aggies are 5-1-3 so far this season.

Utah State has a pair of home matches this week, looking for their first-ever win against No. 14 BYU on Thursday, Sept. 20, at 4 p.m. The Aggies will end the week against Wyoming on Sunday, Sept. 23, at 1 p.m. The Cougars are 8-1-0 this season, while the Cowgirls hold a 7-3-0 mark.

As always, admission to all Utah State soccer matches is free. The Aggies will be streaming all home soccer matches on the USU website. There is a Utah State All-Access Monthly Subscription for $9.95 and a Utah State All-Access Yearly Subscription for $79.95. Fans can access live stats through GameTracker.
