As BYU gave Washington State a shellacking in their season opener last Thursday, one thing became apparent: the reasons Riley Nelson's teammates love him, according to the Bleacher Report.
One reason is the intensity Nelson plays with, according to the article. After a drive that went nowhere, Nelson ran over to the sideline and threw his helmet on the ground.
"I love seeing that," a fan told the Bleacher Report. "We haven't had a quarterback that plays with that fire since, well, Jim McMahon, I guess."
Another reason Nelson's teammates love him is because of his selflessness, according to the article. After backup quarterback Taysom Hill threw a touchdown, Nelson didn't act like he was sad that he didn't throw the pass. Instead, he was the first one on the field and celebrated with Hill.

It's great to see an article pointing out the attributes of someone like Riley Nelson as seen by his teammates--especially after their stunning performance against Washington State. He is an excellent example of commitment and commeraderry. I More..
I love Nelson's fire and toughness, but he needs to play smarter. He makes dumb decisions that could not only cost his team the game, but the entire season if he gets injured (like he has the last two seasons). Nelson would have had 3-4 More..
This kind of story again? I like the idea of the story, but do the research and make it worthwhile. Why is the DNews insisting on linking stories to fan sites with little credibility? Bleacher Report?
