SALT LAKE CITY — United Way of Salt Lake and United Way 2-1-1 have announced a new website that will offer a comprehensive list of services and resources for Utahns seeking urgent assistance.
United Way 2-1-1 is utilizing a new online database, "Community Point," that allows users to access and connect to nearly 3,300 resources online. The website is found at www.211ut.org. The new site also provides an expanded list of resources for people with disabilities.
“We hope this new service makes it easier for people to get the help that they need quickly,” said Amy Bosworth, 2-1-1 information and referral director. “We know that when someone is in crisis, they need information now. While our information specialists are quick with answers for callers, sometimes people don’t have time to make a phone call — it’s often easier to quickly look up information themselves, and our new system makes it simple and easy.”
Utahns can find information at www.211ut.org on everything from emergency food pantries to rental assistance to public health clinics, childcare resources, legal aid, behavioral substance and other health and human services.
In addition to finding help, the new website also offers opportunities for those that want to give help and volunteer in their community. All the same information is still available by dialing 211.
